Welcome all to this years Hitchin Hard Half Marathon Day sponsored by the Midweek Mercury.

There is loads going on the day including bouncy castles, slides and soft play areas; enjoy a leisurely stroll around Hitchin with the Hitchin Town trail and enter the prize draw plus of course three different runs to enter or watch as the runners leave and return from the picturesque surroundings of Priory Park

All proceeds from the event are being donated to the Scouting


H3M – Hitchin Hard Half Marathon

The Hitchin Hard Half Marathon race is the blue riband event of the day; the course runs through the north Hertfordshire countryside going from the beautiful grounds of the Priory Hotel in Hitchin through Charlton around Preston village to Frogmore and Lilley Bottom Lane, returning back to Priory Park via Preston and Gosmore.

Race starts at 9:30am with the leaders finishing around 10:45 to 11:00. Be there to cheer them home and marvel at how fast they run

H4M – The Tough 10K (Half the Hitchin Hard Half Marathon)

If the H3M is not for you consider the H4M as an alternative which is half the distance. Organized alongside the H3M the H4M is a race run on sections of the H3M. To view the route follow this link H4M Route It is managed under UK Athletics rules and regulations, runners will be chip timed enabling accurate individual results and prizes awarded for the usual categories

The Easy Peasy 5K


The Hitchin 5K starts in Hitchin Priory crosses the footbridge over Park Road following Gosmore Road to Brick Kiln Lane. Next it follows the half marathon course up to turn into Maydencroft Lane  returning via Hitchin Road and Gosmore.

This is a more gentle introduction into the Festival giving you the chance to enjoy a good run supported by friendly marshals thorugh some of the most attractive parts of Hitchin and Gosmore
